Wine Tourism in Perigord

The Chateau La Ressaudie sits in the heart of the Perigord region, on a 35 hectare estate. This 19th century stone house has remained in the Rebeyrolle family for five generations, from its construction until its sale in January 2020 to Frank and Marie Magiera, two enthusiasts of the region and of wine. Located within the AOC Montravel on the heights of Port-Sainte-Foy-et-Ponchapt, come to the Château to discover the wines, visit the cellars, and be a part of the events of the moment. We will ensure that our welcome matches our passion! As a group, as a family, as a couple or alone, come and visit us at Château la Ressaudie on the "Montravel Wine Route".

A Dream Come True

About thirty years ago, Frank Magiera became insanely passionate about wine, and today following an international industrial career, he has moved on to fullfill his dream to become a winemaker. Determined to get closer to their family and to take on this new challenge, Frank and his wife Marie left their lives in the United States, Los Angeles, in 2019 to come back to France. First vintage in 2020: let the adventure begin!

The Vineyard

The Ressaudie estate covers 35 hectares, 14.5 hectares of which are devoted to vines on clay-limestone soils very suitable for viticulture. The red vineyard is made up of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, but also soon a plot of Malbec. The white vineyard is made up of sauvignon blanc, sauvignon gris and sémillon, to which will be added in 2021 a parcel of alvarinho.

Sales and Wine Tasting

The Château la Ressaudie wine cellar, currently undergoing reconstruction, is open by appointment. You can taste and buy the wines produced on the estate. At first, only our Bergerac range will be available, but from this fall our white Montravel will be ready. You will have to be patient to discover the Montravel reds, which will not be bottled until 2022. We can also offer tours of the cellar and vineyard by reservation. Wine Tourism

In the near future, we would like to set-up a few wine oriented events like organized wine tastings, concerts in the park, themed evenings, walks throughout the vineyards, BBQs,…All in the spirit of conviviality, and showcasing our great wines.
